Ascalon Properties jointly purchased the residential element of this mixed-use development of Kirk Mill with their partners SCPi.
Close liaison with the local authority on a design for the scheme resulted in an application for 39 units including 7 affordable homes. The design and layout were subject to close scrutiny during the application process as the site sits within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The planning application required a bespoke approach including landscape visualisation work and careful design detailing to respond to the edge-of-settlement setting of this greenfield site.
Full planning was granted in December 2017 for this exciting development of new homes, which respond to their setting by using stone, slate and render to tie-in with the local vernacular. The development partners proceeded to build the site out, starting on site in 2018.
